I told you recently that Ading Linus will be singing the "Hallelujiah" song on Easter Sunday, right? Well, apparently yesterday he went to church for his practice with Inang, Ading Kika and I think Mama. He used your bike and Ading Kika used hers. According to Inang, Ading Linus parked the bike just in front of the church, where there were quite a few church people hanging around. Few minutes later when they checked on the bike, it was gone! Ading Linus felt really bad because he knew that you really took care of that bike. Pinakaingat-ingatan mo raw yun. I remember that you and Ading didn't use it for a while because it was not working. Then when Papa went home when you left, he fixed it. Then it broke again and Inang had to ask someone to sort it out. She said she spent quite a lot of money on it. Mama also told me that they painted the bike in white and blue. That's probably what attracted whoever took it. Because according to Mama, the bike was beautiful.
I can imagine how painful it was for Ading Linus to lose that bike. First, because it was yours and he probably would like to take care of it just like the way you did. It was a part of you. Secondly, because you and Ading were really never allowed to use your bikes beyond our neighbourhood. That was actually the first time I heard that he went that far on his bike. I really feel so sorry for him. He must have been really upset. Inang had to reassure him that she would buy him a new one. But then again, it will not be the same.
I told Inang that maybe that was a sign that your Adings shouldn't be riding their bikes outside. Mama told me that before they went to the church she was feeling anxious. She could not think of any reason why she should be. But Ate Lea apparently told her not to let Ading go on to that chair that they pull up for the Hallelujiah thing, because Ading might fall or something. But we are all relieved now that Mama's anxiety was all about your bike. At the same time we all feel really sad because we lost something that belonged to you.
On the contrary though, I told the story to my ever religious friend and she interpreted your missing bike in a completely different way. Her first question to me was, "Are you sure he didn't take it?". She was obviously pertaining to you. I got very defensive and told her that you are not a thief and you will never do such a thing. Even when you were with us, you were so against people who lie or steal. I told her jokingly you won't be able to take it to heaven with you because it is heavy. We both laughed. But I think she has a point. You know sometimes when things just go missing and you don't know where they might be? When you're looking for something and you knew you just left it there, then all of a sudden you couldn't find it? I am sure you probably have experienced that as well. Maybe it could be that too. But God only knows what happened to your bike. You probably also know what happened so please feel free to tell (any of) us. You know we can keep a secret- **wink**. We will definitely feel better if we find out that it was you who took it and you just wanted to play with Ading Linus. But if it was someone on earth who had a bad intention, then please ask God to tell that person that what he did was wrong. That bike didn't belong to him/her, it was yours and Ading's.
Oh well, it could have been worse, right? At least your Adings are safe. Please thank Papa Jesus for always keeping them safe. And thanks to you for watching over them.
By the way, I remembered that I took a picture of you on your bike when you were about seven years old or something. Of course, it was not the same bike that has gone missing.
